I. Soraya, you are a unique beauty, can you tell us a bit about your heritage?
S. Thank you! My Father is African- American and my Mother is Persian
I. Has your background and upbringing influenced your ideals of beauty?
S.I would say that having two parents from so far away from NZ forced me to travel with them all the time basically from birth so that really opened my eyes to seeing beauty in everybody. I love that we are all different in our own ways.

I. Since living in LA, has it changed your approach to beauty?
S. Living in a city where everybody is in entertainment you feel that drive to eat better and feel better because mostly everybody around you is on that same tip. It kind of happens without you noticing. I work mostly in a recording studio so my day to day look is pretty chill but I always keep an outfit or some makeup handy in case I need to go somewhere that night and can't get home to change. LA is massive.
I.What is the first thing you do in the morning?
S. Look at my phone.
I.Don't we all...Can you talk us through your morning routine?
S. Usually as soon as I wake up I put some music on. I prefer reggae or soul in the mornings. I like to drink some warm water with apple cider vinegar in it. I always keep fresh aloe vera in my fridge and everyday when I wake up I cut a leaf open and rub it on my face and leave it as a face mask. Once a week I will do a more intense face mask maybe a clay one or a charcoal one. I try to always eat something in the first hour of waking up. A boiled or poached egg, I also love egg white omelettes with salmon or spinach. Juice is always a must. I love plain orange juice even though it has sugar it’s my favourite thing in the morning. I always exfoliate my face every day in the shower. I try not to use very harsh soaps because they dry my skin out completely. After I shower I slather myself with oil. I love almond oil and coconut oil. I think that moisturising and conditioning the skin is one of the most important things you can do to maintain it.

I. What are the 3 essential beauty products you can’t live without?S.
2. I always love a good cleanser for face I think cleaning your face is the most important thing you can do to have clear skin.
I.We adore your hair, can you talk us through how you take care of it? ?S. Every week I do a deep condition on my hair using raw Shea butter, coconut oil and a strong moisturising leave in conditioner; I put all of that on my hair and leave it with a shower cap for like half a day or overnight. I wear my hair naturally which means I don't have dye or any straightening chemicals on it. After I deep condition I twist my hair with more leave in and oils and a curly gel. I take two strands of hair and twist them around each other. Sort of like braiding. This allows my hair to dry in a curly pattern and then I take them out and my hair is shiny and curly.
I.How do take care of yourself from the inside, out?
S. I think that what we eat is very important to maintain not only a healthy lifestyle physically but also mentally. I eat a lot of turmeric and garlic, I also like saffron it's known to make you happy. I like to drink alkaline water. I take biotin, fish oil, oregano oil and I also like compressed juices. Since I have been doing that I hardly ever get sick, and if I do it's just for one day and then I'm over it.
I.Do you have a signature scent?
S. I do. But if I told you i’d have to kill you. I believe that nobody should reveal their magic.
I.Oh we love that! OK, next question, can you reveal a favourite beauty indulgence?
S.Living in LA my most favourite thing to do is go to the Korean spa. I go once a week and have a full body scrub. There are so many women who go there in their 70s with the most smooth magical skin because they have followed this routine. We don't realise how many dead layers of skin are just sitting on the surface and how dull it can make or complexions.
I. And last but not least what are your favourite picks from INÈS
S. 1.I love love love Bioderma I have been using it for years.
2.Your Leonor Greyl hair oil has fast become a part of my deep condition hair routine. It also smells so much nicer than just plain coconut oil.
3.The NIOD Bio Lipid concentrate is ammmmmaaazing. It makes your lips so conditioned and voluptuous.
