After a festive summer of weddings, big nights out and regular weekend getaways with friends - my quota of Campari, cheese boards and rich meals was truly exhausted. Yes, such good times and of course no regrets, but come April I was feeling toxic.
My skin was dull, energy levels low, I was bloated and quite simply felt gross. I’m usually committed to a healthy lifestyle of yoga, a largely plant based diet, eating organic where possible and daily green smoothies - that being said I’m all about the 80/20 approach and do love the occasional naughty night out and enjoy food indulgences when the occasion calls. But, the cumulative effects of consecutive over-the-top weekends caught up with me and I was desperate for a re-set.
Welcome - The Beauty Chef 14 Day Cleanse Programme!
I was initially drawn to the Beauty Chef’s Cleanse programme for two reasons; firstly, it’s only two weeks long which for me was less daunting and far more realistic to stick to. Secondly, it’s not about starving yourself - it’s a gentle cleanse and you’re encouraged to eat a wide variety of nutrient dense foods full of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant goodness. It focuses on nourishing your body with whole foods that support the detoxification process – it’s certainly not about going hungry.
I decided to commit to the 14 days and successfully finished the programme with ease (with the exception of a few coffees here and there sneaked in.) The complete elimination of alcohol, dairy, sugar and processed food was easy to adhere to, not only because my body was craving purification but also because I generally try to keep those food groups in moderation - so it wasn’t drastic eliminating them completely for two weeks.
That being said, because I had 4 months of summer fun running through my system the programme worked incredibly well. The results felt radical in the sense it gave me a total body and mind re-set. I felt fresher, clearer and had significantly more energy.

It was undeniable how much ‘cleaner’ I felt, a short and simple two week purification that set a new tone which I’ve continued through the year so far. It’s unquestionably made me more in-tune with my body and given me a heightened understanding of what feels good, what doesn’t and the ability to bounce back quickly if I’m feeling a bit groggy from the occasional over-indulgence.
One of my favourite aspects of the programme was the ritual of starting each day with warm lemon water, followed by a few teaspoons of CLEANSE, it just felt so purifying and set the right intention for the day. The powder is a powerhouse supplement full of anti-oxidants and alkalising wholefoods so immediately it feels incredibly neutralising and cleansing. CLEANSE is now a staple in my fridge for the days I’m feeling a little 'blah' or just wanting extra support to feel detoxed. I always alternate my mornings between GLOW and CLEANSE depending on how I'm feeling.
I can’t recommend the cleanse programme enough - I’ll unquestionably be doing it 2-3 times a year for a detox and reset. I truly believe it’s incredibly beneficial for anyone looking to support their health, purify their liver, increase energy and improve their skin.
