SENSITIVE SKIN

Look for products that are formulated with gentle hypoallergenic ingredients, that will soothe redness, and calm inflammation. Avoid fragrances or any unnecessary ingredients that could cause further irritation

INÈS PICKS:

Dr Rogers Restore

With only 8 hypoallergenic plant based ingredients, this cleanser is extremely gentle, fragrance free, and effectively cleanses without irritation.

Sensibio Cleansing Gel

A classic fragrance free cleanser that ticks all the boxes. Formulated specially for sensitive and intolerant skin. With lipid restoring and moisturising properties, skin is left clean and comfortable

Picking the right cleanser for your skin, adjusting to the seasons, and taking the time to indulge in this daily ritual will set the foundation for a healthy, radiant complexion.

DRY SKIN

Avoid gel cleansers that tend to foam up and dry out skin, opting for formulas with creamy textures, like a balm or oil. TIP: watch water temperatures- keep it tepid. Hot or overly cold water can dry out skin even more

INÈS PICKS:

MARA Cleansing Oil

A skin soothing formula that floods skin with marine botanicals, hydrating squalene, vitamins and fatty acids as well as a blend of fruit enzymes to gently exfoliate as it cleanses.

iS Clinical Warming Honey Cleanser

A rich, creamy treatment cleanser with the purest raw honey, royal jelly, and propolis. Cleanses and gently exfoliates, leaving skin ultra-hydrated, moisturised, while balancing problematic skin types

OILY SKIN

Look for oil-free gel cleansers containing AHA’s and/or BHAs. These will gently exfoliate skin, draw out impurities, and curb excess oil production. BHA’s in particular, (salicylic acid) are non-abrasive, gently resurfacing and help with blemishes, blackheads and enlarged pores.

Also look for antimicrobial properties such as honey.

TIP: avoid the desire to over cleanse oily skin! Excessive cleansing can cause skin to produce more oil.

INÈS PICKS:

iS Clinical Cleansing Complex

An iS Clinical best seller, this lightweight cleansing gel is powerful yet gentle enough for sensitive skin. Formulated with Willow Bark Extract (salicylic acid)- a natural BHA known for its ability to help remove dead skin cells and clear pores leaving skin clean, soft and smooth.

Warming Honey Cleanser

Enriched with the antimicrobial properties of pure raw honey, papaya enzymes for gentle but powerful exfoliation, and green tea extract- a potent antioxidant to support blemish prone skin. A rich luxurious cleanser to help balance problematic skin, while leaving it smooth and nourished.

TIP: Let the cleanser sit on the skin for 5 mins, like a mask, to benefit from enzyme activity

Skincare should be enjoyed. If you’ve got the time at the end of the day- take it slow, and enjoy the process. Spend a couple of extra minutes massaging your cleanser into your skin.

NORMAL SKIN

Not too oily, not too dry- pick a cleanser that does the job without too many frills. Look for basic gel formula that gently foams, or one that has mild exfoliants to support skin cell turnover, leaving skin bright and healthy.

Finally, some tips to boosting your cleansing ritual...

DO double cleanse

When done correctly, a double cleanse won’t strip your skin, but keep skin as clean and healthy as possible. After a day’s build-up of make-up, SPF, and pollution, a double cleanse should be an essential part of your routine. The first cleanse will remove the surface layer of makeup and grime from the day- the second cleanse will work away at the dead skin cells. This ensures any products applied after will absorb more efficiently.

Start with an oil cleanser to melt away impurities, and follow with a gentle foam cleanser or a micellar water. We're huge fans of a swipe of Bioderma Sensibio H20 after the first cleanse. Nothing makes you feel cleaner - an INÈS essential

DO: Exfoliate or deep cleanse weekly

A weekly mask or enzyme peel can work wonders on your complexion! An enzyme peel or exfoliating treatment will increase cell turnover, and rid your skin of dead skin cells- revealing bright smooth skin and allowing for better penetration of serums.

And last but not least...Don’t Rush

Skincare should be enjoyed. If you’ve got the time at the end of the day- take it slow, and enjoy the process. Spend a couple of extra minutes massaging your cleanser into your skin. This won’t only ensure a through clean, but the massage will help with lymphatic drainage, de-puffing face, improving circulation and boosting natural radiance

TIP: Opt for an oil or cream cleanser with slip to enhance the massage
